Sacred Story Institute is a Catholic/Jesuit non-profit dedicated to programs and publications that can reach the hearts of today’s Catholics. Our mission is to advance Third Millennium evangelization by helping Catholic Christians live a sacred story that reveals Christ and the Church as light for the world

Research

Sacred Story Institute is pioneering a new research methodology that will investigate individuals’ life histories from multiple perspectives: spiritual, moral, psychological, medical, family of origin, prayer and faith practice. Our researchers employ the tools of faith, science and technology to illuminate human nature as a unity of body and spirit to support people’s integral growth in Christ.

Parish Renewal

The goal of all SSI research is to create programs that enable Catholics from all backgrounds to develop a discerning heart and a healing, personal relationship with Christ—in daily life. The vital, time-tested Examination of Conscience of St. Ignatius Loyola in our Forty Weeks: An Ignatian Path to Christ with Sacred Story Prayer will be the foundation for all our pastoral renewal programs.

Conscience Formation

No greater task faces Catholic parents, pastors and teachers today than educating the conscience of our youth. In a world with absolute freedoms and no absolute truths, one of our highest priorities is creating high quality K-8 conscience formation tools based on the discernment principles of St. Ignatius.

Sacred Story Institute’s Whole-Life Survey© (WLS©) in its two formats, offers parishes unparalleled information that will change the way pastors and pastoral teams assess the needs of their faith communities.

Forty Weeks

Forty Weeks: An Ignatian Path to Christ with Sacred Story Prayer is SSI’s foundational renewal program, based on St. Ignatius Loyola’s Examination of Conscience. Forty Weeks fosters a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ by engaging practitioners in a daily prayer discipline, regular Sacramental Reconciliation and spiritual discernment.

K-8 Conscience Formation
