E & W reflections are additional helps for your Sacred Story prayer journey. Reflect on them at week’s beginning or outside of your 15-minute prayer periods.
We conclude our reflections on ETERNITY by a focus on what our ETERNITY might be like. St. Paul says: “Now we are seeing a dim reflection in a mirror, but then we shall be seeing face to face” (1 Cor 13:12). Echoing the prophet Isaiah, Paul reminds us “Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor 2: 9). There will be a new heavens and a new Earth. Our immortality will be restored with an ETERNITY of joy and communion with Father, Son and Spirit and with all the elect. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, the old order has passed away” (Rev 21: 4). The experience of love shared and given in the Father’s Kingdom increases without limit. There will always be new depths of love and joy to experience for all ETERNITY. Jesus, the Divine Physician speaks directly to us when He says: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be” (Jn 14: 1, 3).
Lord Jesus, you have won the victory over death and loneliness.
Please help me to open to your love each day to begin serving you and your Kingdom.
Help me to live my life so it produces fruit enduring to ETERNITY by opening to
Creation, Presence, Memory, Mercy and Eternity.
For God will save Zion
and rebuild the cities of Judah.
The descendants of his servants shall inherit it,
and those who love his name shall inhabit it.
(Psalm 69: 37)
