The 500th Anniversary of The Battle of Pamplona was in 2021
Our “War & Grace” project started in 2021 as SSI's initiative to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Wounding of St. Ignatius at the Battle of Pamplona. St. Ignatius, too, is a wounded warrior. We realize that war can be hell and the wounds, both emotional, spiritual and physical, can, in time by grace, be transformed. God always provides a way home, no matter what. The Anniversary Year concludes on July 31st, 2022, but our project will continue unabated with a friend of Fr. Bill's, LTC David Guarriello, RET., a 1991 Georgetown graduate and career soldier who will be captain of the project going forward. We believe the stories of wounded warriors can help bring hope and healing to their brothers and sisters who might be struggling, as well as to the families of those who have been injured in combat. Please share your story. We are so grateful for your service and sacrifice. God bless and protect our soldiers and our veterans. St. Ignatius, Pray For Us!
